MANISTEE – Community members are invited to create artworks for a 12″ x 12″ Community Art exhibition to be held in the Hardy Hall gallery at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts, November 1 through December 14.

The show is a fundraising project for the arts at the Ramsdell.

Those interested in creating and donating works for the show must purchase blank 12-inch by 12-inch canvases at a cost of $10 each. Canvases are available at the Ramsdell, 101 Maple St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. They may also be purchased at ArtWare (formerly Wahr Hardware), 87 Division Street, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday through Sunday.

The preferred due date for entries is Friday, Oct. 25, and artworks can be dropped off at either location.

A free workshop by artist Mary Wahr will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the Ramsdell’s Classroom B for those who would like assistance with inspiration and design. Registration is not required.

Works may be representational, abstract or holiday themed.

The Ramsdell previously exhibited and sold artworks during the holidays which were created by community members on 6-inch by 6-inch canvases. The free exhibition was geared toward those wishing to purchase smaller, more affordable works of art as holiday gifts and included paintings as well as works of fiber, photography, multi-media and collage on canvas.
