From staff reports

According to the MDNR, Michigan has 13,000 miles of state-managed trails, thousands of miles of local, county and federally managed trails, and more rail-trail miles than any other U.S. state.

The 2020 Michigan Trails Challenge offers everyone a chance to walk, run, ride, hike, bike or paddle during Michigan Trails Weeks, Sept. 20-27, to help the state attain its goal of 100,000 miles – all to benefit trails.
