An authentic Victorian night of dancing — along with appetizers, sweets and a cash bar — will take place during the Grand Ball, a Dec. 1 fundraising event for the Lakeside Club of Manistee County. The “1885 Come Alive!” black-tie gathering will be held 7:30-10 p.m. in the  ballroom of the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts, 101 Maple Street. Tickets are $40 per person or $70 per couple, must be purchased by Nov. 17, and are available online only at lakesideclubmanistee.org .

Dance lessons will be held the afternoon of the ball for anyone would like to learn.

There is a quote seeming to float on the water that reads, Volunteering for GTRLC has introduced me to many trails and preserves I was previously unaware of. The group activities are always fun and friendly and I feel I've made a contribution. I've learned a lot about stewardship, conservation, and habitat protection.
