LUDINGTON – The last day to order native plants online from AFFEW (A Few Friends for the Environment) is March 30.
According to AFFEW’s news release, native plants help insects, birds and animals which rely on the nectar, pollen and seeds they provide.
“Native plants also require minimal maintenance and their deep root system absorbs more water than a traditional lawn,” the release stated.
The plants are available in quart-sized and one-gallon containers.
AFFEW also offers the convenience of Plant By Number garden flats and single species flats. These can be ordered through April 20.
The nonprofit environmental organization has hosted a native plant sale–including a “large variety of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs”–since 2019. For more information and/or to place an order, go to https://affew.org or email Sara Bolan at sarahb@affew.org.
