“Native plants also require minimal maintenance and their deep root system absorbs more water than a traditional lawn,” the release stated.

The plants are available in quart-sized and one-gallon containers.

AFFEW also offers the convenience of Plant By Number garden flats and single species flats. These can be ordered through April 20.

The nonprofit environmental organization has hosted a native plant sale–including a “large variety of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs”–since 2019. For more information and/or to place an order, go to https://affew.org or email Sara Bolan at sarahb@affew.org.
