Thank you!Advertise in Freshwater Reporter!Advertisement for Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy is a still lake with trees lining it in fall colors and the lake is reflecting the clouds in the sky. There is a quote seeming to float on the water that reads, Volunteering for GTRLC has introduced me to many trails and preserves I was previously unaware of. The group activities are always fun and friendly and I feel I've made a contribution. I've learned a lot about stewardship, conservation, and habitat protection. “Native plants also require minimal maintenance and their deep root system absorbs more water than a traditional lawn,” the release stated.

The plants are available in quart-sized and one-gallon containers.

AFFEW also offers the convenience of Plant By Number garden flats and single species flats. These can be ordered through April 20.

The nonprofit environmental organization has hosted a native plant sale–including a “large variety of wildflowers, grasses and shrubs”–since 2019. For more information and/or to place an order, go to https://affew.org or email Sara Bolan at sarahb@affew.org.
