FRANKFORT – A free public reception will be held 5-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, to open Oliver Art Center’s Winter Member Exhibition. The annual all-media show features works by members of the art center and is one of its largest exhibitions of the year.

Those who appreciate the visual arts or wish to find original holiday gifts may stroll through the center’s Beck and Borwell galleries found inside the center at 132 Coast Guard Road. Members’ paintings, fiber arts, sculptures, ceramics, wood pieces are displayed. (Story continues below the ads.)

Cost is $10. Refreshments will be served, and current Oliver Art Center members will receive a 10% discount on all gallery purchases made during the reception. Purchases support the artistic efforts of the center’s members.

The Winter Member Exhibition runs through January 2 and is sponsored by the Freshwater Reporter, a free community newspaper offering fresh storytelling in Manistee and Mason counties and beyond. Co-editor Mark Videan is an OAC member and artist.
