The Ludington Coin Club will host its annual coin and stamp show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, at Hamlin Township Hall, 3775 N. Jebavy Dr., north of Ludington.

I recently spoke with the show’s chairperson, Ryker Johnson, about the event. He said the local show has been held in most years since 1967 and is a great family-friendly event, with much to enjoy and learn from attending.

The water is gently lapping the shore and the sun is reflected in the wet sand just beyond the edge of the lake. The coin dealers, each of whom will host a vendor table, come from all over the state. Lots of interesting coinages, from contemporary to historical, will be displayed and available for purchase.

Johnson said there will also be a stamp dealer whose vending table is usually surrounded by inquisitive attendees.

An information table at the front entrance of the hall will be staffed to answer any questions attendees may have.

In addition, there will be a raffle with hourly prizes, as well as a grand prize.

For more information about the show or the local club’s monthly meetings, call or text Ryker Johnson at (231) 655-2451.

As a newbie collector, I have a lot of fun looking at different coins and various shapes of precious metals. I hope you will take a little time out of your day and drive to Hamlin Township to check out all the amazing coins and stamps these vendors will be bringing to the area.
